Just some code 55 rail, a P:87 tie plate, a scrap piece of PC tie, and a little acid flux, and some solder... |

Greetings, Those ties plates look great. I guess you would need to make every cross tie a PC board? Christopher |

Christopher, Actually no. The P87 tieplates are intended to be used with wooden ties. The tieplates are recommended to be ACC glued to the wood ties and the rails then to be 'flexible glued' (thinned barge, pliobond, goo, etc.)to the ties and tieplates. Some tieplates even have holes for spikes - and scaled spikes are avialable that actually 'grab' the wood and hold - yet have the heads that are as 'delicate' as the etched ones on the tieplates. The process can be tedious - but the results are extraordinary in fidelity. With practice - you can model track that's reliable and prototypical. It's sorta like assembling a jig saw puzzle. -ed- |
