Post subject:  Bus Wire gauges

thank you for the answer on the wire gauges. 12 AWG is 2.0mm in metric. 2.0mm is not a common gauge in New Zealand. 2.5 mm is the nearest gauge wire. Is it ok to use 2.5mm in lieu of the 2.0mm. will that mean a better flow of current to the track ?. I am using a 5 amp DCC booster.
In general does it matter if you use a larger gauge wire if you do not have the recommended smaller gauge wire. :D

Absolutely. The larger wire will operate cooler and give less resistance - so the voltage drop will be less for a given run length. WISE CHOICE!
