I finished building a #6 LH crossover by combining two turnouts. The trick was to get alignment and maintain gauge. Tom in Dallas |

Tom, Very nice crossover in Z scale. The point throws with the loops is interesting. How do you plan on controlling the points once installed? Will the isolated frogs be powered? Those Z scale turnouts really show how big the rail appears in perspective. Still these appear very nice and I expect they are smooth and reliable. I've found that the Micro Engineering rail weathering solution will work wonders on masking away the solder. |

The attached photo is off topic in so far as crossovers are concerned by the photo demonstrates how I moce the closure rails using the loop. The stainless steel wire fits into the loop and is controlled remotely with a Tortoise and the aux switches feed the frog. On the crossover I will be using same technique and one ss wire will be bent in the opposite direction so the turnouts will be in sync. Tom in Dallas

Help! I noticed in my first photo it was larger than a solar system. In my next (just now) I recuded the size using Adobe Photo Elements to 4" w x ~3" high. It too is rendered very large. Am I doing something wrong? Tom in Dallas |

Tom, I pre-process all my raw JPG photos with a freeware program - XnView for Windows. See http://www.xnview.com. It has all kinds of manipulations - I use the resize and the image adjust functions to set up photos for links and embedded forums. It has proven to be the finest photo software I've ever used. Sample processed photo of an HO number 9 frog: (This was HUGE before the processing). |

I hope I do not offend anyone in trying to figure out how to show photos at a reasonable size. Here goes an attempt.

Thank you Ed. I had the feature in Adobe Photo Elements and did not realize what I could do with it. Now if we could just get this little edit box to word wrap for us. Tom in Dallas |
