Greetings:

I printed out the Tie Templates for the No. 7 & No. 8 switches. I was surprised to see that they are the same length. I checked the scale on the drawings and it appears the drawing printed to the correct size.

I would have expected the No. 7 to be longer. Why is this not so?

I think it is just a limitation in the equipment used to make the fixtures. At the frog end, count the number of ties after the last pc board tie. The #7 turnout has 7 ties, the #8 has five ties. Measure the distance between centerlines at this end.
