What is the best way to connect a Tortoise switch motor to the turnout throw bar? I will be going through 2 inch foam board. Lee |

Lee, The Tortoise has plenty of torque and throw. You will need to replace the stock throw wire with a stiffer wire. I use 0.039" wire, but for only 2" of mounting, you may get by with 0.032" wire. Get the steel springy piano wire from the K&S display at the hobby shop. You'll need to drill out the throw adjustment bar for the wire to pass through and also the mounting nub - the screw will still grab and hold just fine. A number 60 drill will work just right for 0.039" replacement. |
