hmmm....
rather nice! :)
seems that it would ensure a good angle and minimze error... :)
as i dont' have such a tool....
i was wondering...
how much would a belt sander cost?
at present...
the only power tools that i have....
electric screwdriver(if you can consider it?)....cordless drill....
so please understand that i'm a little reticent to buy new hardware..... :?

I got the Delta sander and I love it! It's an awesome tool for only $100.00. Well worth the price, I use it for all kinds of projects, not just building turnouts. Get yours now, because I heard that Delta is no longer making this version anymore, and I know that my local Lowes are out of stock. :(

I use the disc sander for grinding frogs, and the belt sander for the points and point pockets.

I also have the Delta band saw, which I use to cut PC board material down to scale strips. I don't have the rip fence installed because I just got done cutting some PVC pipe. It was also $100.00. :D

thx guys. :)
i checked out lowes too...
i think though, it may not be worth the investment...
considering that i'll never use any hardware i buy for anything other than the layout...
and there are still so many things that i need...

but it looks like i'm gonna have to get some basic tools...
at least to do the benchwork...
as i don't even have a plain saw
(but i do have a hammer  )

probably won't go with power tools...
after i'm done, they'll just take up space and probably rust :P
guess i'll just have to do it all by hand...for now. :|
