Post subject: | Connecting Completed Track Components |
I'm new to n-gauge railroading and Fast Tracks is exactly what I would like to use. My questions are: a.) Once I assemble the various track components (straight, curves, turnouts, wyes, etc.) how then do I put all these together to complete the layout. I realize that the rails of each component must be cut/soldered to line up with the adjoining track component. Is there a video or any reference show exactly how this is done? b.) Is separate underlying roadbed needed? Thanks for your replies. J. P. Kuchar Metuchen NJ |

a) As far as the straight sections go, just file the rails flush with the edge of the fixture. I just use "trial and error" on the curved sections. A slight gap won't hurt. b) My layout uses 4" thick foam as the baseboard, so I don't really need it. Just depends on what material the baseboard is made of. |
