If I buy the #8 Cross-over jig, AK-HO-C-8, I know I can build just a standard switch from it. :)

But will the standard #8 Quickstick for turnouts, LT-HO-T-8, fit the switches built from a cross-over jig? :?:

Hi,

Yes, they will. When we designed the #8 Crossover fixture we first located the PC board ties needed to build a #8 turnout, then added the additional necessary PC board ties for use in a double crossover.

To determine which tie pockets on a double crossover are to be used, place a standard #8 QuickStick, or the printable tie template next to the fixture, this will help identify which pockets are needed. Ignore the rest of the pockets in the fixture (unless you are building a double crossover...)

Thanks, I was planning on getting the cross-over as my first jig purchase to get more bang for the buck, and just wanted to make sure the quick-sticks would work for it.

Kurt.

Hi Kurt,

The answer is "Yes". You simply have to omit 2 of the PC board ties at the frog end of the turnout when building it in the double crossover fixture, which you can readily determine when you compare our track template for a #8 turnout to the fixture.
