Now that we can easily add pictures to the posts, let me start with some shots of what I am currently working on!

Unlike other forums where posting a pictures requires the photo to already exist somewhere else on the internet, with the Fast Tracks forum you can attach any picture directly to your message!

Feel free to join in with some shots of your own work in progress!

File comment: A shot of the whole Vandelay complex. The long building in the foreground is scratchbuilt out of plaster castings. The tall building in the back is 2 Walthers kits.

Here are some different shots taken around the layout this morning.

File comment: This was originally destined to sit near the Vandelay Industries complex, but the wood buildings just didn't look quite right in all that brick and concrete, so I moved it to the other side of the layout.

File comment: This is a piece of the "original layout", completed about 10 years ago. I am very close to getting all the track work completed on the new section of the layout, this section will be a branch line.

File comment: Finally started ballasting the main yard a few weeks back. This has to be done with extreme care, nothing worse than gluing all the turnouts solid! So far so good, a long way to go yet though....

File comment: Art Deco bridge. I scratch built this bridge for a previous layout. When I moved into the current location I was going to sell it or give it away as I didn't think I'd have a home for it, it was built on a curve. I managed to find a spot for it!

Tim

I browsed this thread with interest in a number of respects. Firstly, fantatsic work - it all looks really nice.

Secondly, it really jumped out at me how you neither stained your ties or painted your rail before laying. How do you go about getting the well used look in the Boxcar Loading image?

Cheers
Bruce
