With the HOn30 wye and turnout assembly fixtures, the tie spacing is 22". With the straight and curved track assembly fixtures, the tie spacing is either 21" or 24". I thought maybe you would have straight and curved assembly fixtures with 22" tie spacing to match.

Can't remember for sure why we selected 21" and 24" tie spacing for the HOn30 fixtures. I will look into it.

21" and 24" is the correct ties spacing for the track fixtures. The tie spacing we had on our website for the switch fixtures was incorrect. It should of been 21" and not 22". Note that the actual switch fixtures we produce have always been correct at 21", it was just a typo in the specification document I use for the website.

The specifications for the HOn30 switch fixtures on the site have been corrected now.

Thanks for clearing that up.

One other question, it states that the HOn30 curved and straight track fixtures have the PC Board pockets cut slightly wider so that you you can solder the PC Board ties to the rail at slight randomized angles. This simulates the random alignment of ties commonly seen with prototypical narrow gauge track. How much wider are the PC Board pockets?

I really need an answer to the above question in the next few days. Otherwise it will delay me ordering stuff.

Thanks.

Sorry for the delay. We are short handed this week and I have been conscripted to shipping duties...

The pocket width for the HOn30 straight and curved track fixtures is 0.117".

Judging by the images of the quick sticks, it appears the straight and curved assembly jigs have a PCB tie and then 6 wood ties. Is that correct and is it the same for all fixtures? eg: HO and N scale too?

Hi,

There are 5 wood ties for every PC board tie on the new curved and straight track fixtures.

So if my calculations are correct, that means that the distance from the middle of one PCB pocket to the middle of the next one on the straight and curved assembly fixtures is:

0.96" on the N scale siding fixtures and
1.44" on the HOn30 mainline fixtures.

I'm hoping that I got it right, or that Tim or Ron will put up the correct distances. If I'm right, it means I'm getting the maths behind this correct.
