Well, I've built 4 turnouts with fair results, although I haven't put them down on their Quicksticks yet. I only attached the throwbar to the first, in part because I am very unclear as to where the throwbar should sit.

The slot the throwbar (TB) sits in is much longer than the PC tie, and the printable template shows the TB decidedly off center. Would I be correct in concluding that the TB should be offset to the switch stand side, not necessarily to the diverging route side as the N Scale #10 Straight template shows?

I thought it was designed so the throw bar could be placed on either side, depending on clearance issues.

Basically you get to make the decision as to where you want the throws to be placed.
once you figure that out cut off the other side so their even with the rest of the ties.
If your using present day type yard throws and your switch machines are under the
table you can cut off both sides so that they are even with the rest of the ties on both
side of the switch. Then mount the fake switch modules where ever they fit with the
phony linkage to match.
