Post subject:  shallow #6 frog

I picked up a #6 code 83 micro engineering for ho scale and while making the frog points it seems that they are very shallow than what I'm used to with building my #7's.

Here is a picture of the frogs following the guide, new tool aswell. Although I did notice one side of the Point tool seems to be cut at a lower angle than the other side giving a longer frog angle.

Am I imagining things are is the gap in the frog too big?

Thanks

From your photo, it looks like you failed to file points of frog to full length.

Yours end with flat butt ends, and they should be tapered to point and form a longer pointed frog.

You can see space under frog for additional point in length.

I just received a #6 switch jig and points tool and have no problems getting a long sharp frog point filed and soldered. Just ask my finger tips how sharp they can get. :P
