In watching Tim's skill in the videos, the resistance soldering iron seems to provide plenty of heat at a small conical tip. My pencil iron tips only look that good right out of the package, despite tinning, cleaning, etc.

Therefore, what's everyone's secret to great hot small pencil iron tips?
