I am building a yard ladder in continuity using a Fast Tracks # 6 turnout jig and Quick Sticks for the turnout ties.
My question is, What do I consider the full length of the turnout, The length of the turnout from the jig , or the length of the turnout after it is placed on the Quicktstick ties for the turnout ? The quick stick ties make the turnout a bit longer.

Hello ttomasik,

You didn't which scale you are modelling but you can go to the product description page for any of our turnouts and click on the Specifications tab. There you will find the Default Turnout Length, which is the length of the turnout on the QuickSticks measured from end tie to end tie. You will also see Minimum Turnout Length, which is the shortest possible turnout length measured from the end PC board tie to end PC board tie.

ttomasik,
I did exactly as you have described and I was so proud of my accomplishment, until I put it on the layout. I had built it with #5 turnouts and added some of the fingers as well. When I placed it in the area it was made for I realized I had forgotten about the cross bracing under the table top and realized that 3 of the 7 turnouts had to relocated in order to mount my tortoise machines. So all the work in building as one continuous piece was a waste of time so some had to be separated.
The idea I think was a good one, but an undersight on my part. At least I know for next time.
