I know not many people do this, but I think there is a market for a specialized trackbuilding supply item: Superelevating wood strips. In particular, the transitional pieces.

Now I work in HO, so I dont know how practical this would be in the smaller scales, but for the most part, people are using 1/16" stripwood to superelevate HO track (this approximates the 6" maximum the prototype uses). I have seen other materials used to superelevate as well. Styrene and .065 string trimmer (weedwhacker) line. These all work, but the real issue comes in with the TRANSITIONS back to straight and level track. With stripwood, the practice is to sand down, or feather, the stripwood back to level. Something that is not only time consuming, but also inconsistent.

Wouldn't it be so much simpler if there was a pre sanded angled piece, say 12" long (1/16-3/32" lets say) that you can simply glue down at the end of your superelevated section to get back to level track. No laborious sanding and inconsistent angles. (or lumps/valleys/take your pick)

I personally think superelevation increases the realism tremendously, but it needs to be done right or you will have problems. But I have not seen ANY company, in ANY scale, really address this with any product whatsoever that was designed for it.

Just my .02 cents. Someone needs to step up. Maybe Mt. Albert Scale Lumber might be able to help.
