When building turnouts in place, or using the printable templates, I find the biggest problem area is where to locate the notch and bend the point rail where it meets the frog points. The longer the turnout, the bigger the issue. I am building in HO scale using code 83. Anybody have a sure fire way to mark the point rail where it should be bent to form the inside guard rail?

Greetings,

Could you please post a picture with an arrow pointing the the location you are refering to. I have been building the FT twist tie turnouts and I think I know what you are asking. Before I give my thoughts I want to make sure I am thinking about where you are talking about.
