Post subject:  Acid -vs- Rosin flux ...

I understand why you recommend using acid flux. I use my soldering station for all
soldering tasks and go back and forth between doing rail and electronics (primarily
decoder installs but also creating simple circuits).
I prefer to stock and use only one kind of flux - which has to be rosin in order to
work on electronics.

Other than that it doesn't work quite as well for working on track as acid flux is
there any other over-riding reason why I shouldn't use rosin flux?

None whatsoever. Many of us (not the FastTracks folks) still recommend to NOT use the acid flux. Use a good quality flux and learn the solder technique s correctly - that's the better and safer way.
