I am building a small n scale layout. I bought a juicer and have mounted it and connected the frogs. I have not connected power to the juicer.
I want to test my wiring with DC before I switch to DCC. This may send some pulses of DC to the juicer through the frog connections. Will this damage the juicer? I could doisconnect the frogs from the juicer but hate to struggle with the connectors under the layout again.

another thought - I think it would help the user to include stand-offs in the package and even some small wood screws. Mounting the juicer without stand-offs seems to be a bad idea.

Thanks

Hi,

I responded to Art's question to him directly via email, but thought I should add it here as well as its useful information.

I put this question to Duncan McCree, the designer of the Hex and Mono Frog Juicers. He says they are not designed to handle DC power and recommended that this not be done, and was unsure of the consequences.

He also commented that he felt mounting the juicers directly to a surface without stand-offs would be OK as there are no protruding features on the back of the boards. Just be cautious not to tighten any mounting screws too tightly.
