Just released on our website, our new TieBreaker PC Board tie cutting tool can significantly speed up turnout construction by making it fast and easy to cut each PC Board tie in the turnout to the exact length that you need.

The TieBreaker is currently available for turnouts in all popular scales. We are planning on releasing versions for other switch types in the very near future.

Watch a video that demonstrates how the TieBreaker works and learn more by going here.

Will there be TieBreakers for curved turnouts? Could a TieBreaker be created that would handle more than one type of turnout (wyes, curved, etc.) with perhaps more slots and instructions as to which slots to use for which turnout type?

The same TieBreaker that you use for a straight turnout will also work for a curved turnout.

We have no plans for offering combined TieBreakers.

Just used my TieBreaker for a whole yard ladder, worked great. When will there be a TieBreaker for the non-PC ties needed for a turnout? That would really speed thing up!

The other question I have is that on my #4 turnout templates I printed out, they only show placement for 7 circuit board ties, yet the Tie-breaker has 8 spots. Why the extra slot? Is it for the Throw-bar?

Hello Thomas,

If you really want to speed things up when building turnouts try our QuickSticks laser-cut ties that are made to match each size of turnout. Consequently, there are no plans to release a TieBreaker for wood ties.

You will notice on your assembly fixture that there are there are 2 slots labeled "H" and "S", which are used to build either a hinged or solid point turnout. You will also notice that they are different lengths due to their location and you use either one or the other but not both. This is why there is an extra slot in the TieBreaker.

Any chance of making a tie breaker for the slip switches?
